Donna Joyce Gregory

Donna Joyce Gregory passed away peacefully at her home in El Cajon, CA on August 13, 2015. She was 68 years old. Her sweetheart and partner of 20 years, Larry Stahl and her youngest daughter Angela Brooks were by her side.

Donna was born in Jefferson City, MO on June 17, 1947. She moved to California in 1967. Donna was a loving and kindhearted woman. She was loved very much by her family and many friends.

The bond she shares with her three children, Steven Lindsay, Dana Campos, and Angela Brooks was and always will be unbreakable throughout all space and time.

She was known as MeMa to her six grandkids, Keith, Carlos, Amberlynn, Ian, Steven, Olivia and 2 great-grandkids, Ethan and Emma.

She is survived by her older sisters Hazel and Dorothy and younger brother Lee. Her father Ed Lindsay, mother Nellie Hull, her older brothers Larry, Jerry, Freddy and sister Darlene are no longer with us. But, she has many close friends that are proud to call her sister.

Donna loved to spend time with friends laughing, having fun, listening to country music and playing pool where she won many trophies. Her favorite hobby was crocheting and she truly turned it into an art form.

Over the years she held many different jobs, from bar tending to bookkeeping, culminating at SDG&E where she retired in mid-1990. She was a whiz at math and a walking dictionary too.

Donna always had a smile for everyone, and told her kids, “always have a smile, if someone does not’t smile back, give them one of yours”. Donna also loved to sing, and as her kids grew up they have fond memories of her singing as they drove along in their car.
