Denise Marie Momilani Coons, age 52, of San Diego, California passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Denise aka "Niecy" was born September 12, 1969, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Betty Jane Mililani Waialeale and William Maurice Coons.
Denise Marie was blessed to travel the world as a result of being a "military brat" - she lived in San Francisco, California, Ansbach, Germany, Rockford, Illinois and San Diego, California. She was able to continue her love of travel by joining the American Airlines Family in 1999 when she earned her certification to be a Flight Attendant. She loved being a flight attendant and having the opportunity to travel to several beautiful continents, countries and states. Denise Marie was an avid book reader and enjoyed historical fiction and non-fictions books, but specifically liked 'chick lit" books. During her free time, she loved being surrounded by her Ohana, friends and her fur baby Kekoa. Denise Marie was instrumental in making sure our Ohana gatherings and reunions always had maximum participation and ensured people could attend. Denise was truly loved and will be greatly missed by all. "Gone but never forgotten"
Denise Marie is survived by her mother Betty Jane Mililani Larkins of San Diego, California; her sisters Kimberley Coons of San Diego, California, Monica Larkins of San Diego, California, Kathy Larkins of Indianapolis, Indiana, Theresa Larkins of Indianapolis, Indiana, her brother Marion Larkins of Clearwater, Florida, her nephew Marcus Larkins and her four-legged fur baby Kekoa.
Denise Marie was preceded in death by her father William Maurice Coons (1973) and stepfather Marion Ray Larkins (2020).
The memorial service for Denise Marie will be held Friday, April 22, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at El Cajon Mortuary and Cremation Service, 684 South Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
