He was born on April 17th ,1941 to Frank Pinciotti and Anna Moraldo in Philadelphia PA. He was the 12th of 13 children. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and four sisters. George, Charles, Frank, Ellwood, Daniel and Johnny. Marie, Helen, Jeanne, and Becky. He is survived by his brother Joseph and Anna his sister.
Dave was in the United States Army for three years and served in Korea in the DMZ after the war. He worked in the motorpool where he cultivated a love of machinery and especially classic cars that he enjoyed for his entire life. He married Margaret (Peggy) McElderry Sept 15th, 1962. They have two sons, Kevin and his wife Jill, Shawn and his wife Dina. Their third son , in the middle , Michael, was stillborn. Dave looked forward to the day he would meet his baby boy. Papa Pinch will be missed by his grand children and Uncle David will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews on both sides of our family. Dave moved his family to California in 1974 where he started Dave's Backhoe Service.
He belonged to Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish for 47yrs. He was an active parent helping with the school and Bazaar, where he continued the tradition of the Sausage booth he inherited from his friend Bob Axelson.
He was an Extraordinary Minister doing home visits and supporting Peggy's work with the Culture of Life committee for many years. He volunteered as a cook for Jr. High and High school retreats as well as Cursillo weekends.
Dave was a active member of the East County Cruisers, He loved to show his 1927 Willys Knight and he was an aggressive fund raiser for the many car shows they hosted to support local Military families. Dave loved to showcase his knowledge of old cars and we generally took his word that he was right.
We were a camping family, Dave would take us to the beach, the desert and local lakes. In semi-retirement Dave and Peggy enjoyed camp hosting at the Silver Strand State Beach in Coronado for 12 years. There he could indulge in two of his favorite activities, driving around with a cup of coffee and telling people what to do.
Dave had a inspirational work ethic and worked until he was 78 yrs old.
He will be remembered equally for his sense of humor and his generosity.
