Skip was born November 14, 1930 in the back bedroom of a modest bungalow in Indianapolis Indiana, just a year after the great economic depression began. His birth name was Clifford Lee; however, from early childhood, he was known as Skip or Skipper.
He grew up in the Hoosier state, and as a young man joined the Air Force to avoid the draft when the Korean conflict began. Skip always said, “I liked airplanes better than foxholes.” Later,
he joined Danville Christian Church where he was introduced to both his Savior and his Sally. He and Sally were married in June of 1957. They had three children: Lisa, Tim, and Lynda. Skip was employed as an engineer at Precision Cincinnati, and the Elmores lived in Cincinnati, Ohio until 1975 when they made a big move to San Diego where Skip joined his brother Gene and his wife Wanda in a family business called Tele-Camera of Southern California. Skip, Sally and the kids became involved at Skyline Wesleyan Church for decades where he served as a lay leader, board member and Sunday School teacher.
Skip retired from his business career in 1987 to have time to travel with Sally and to serve in ministry, both at the local church level and at the district level. He served on staff at Magnolia Wesleyan Church from 1996-2000, and at Skyline Wesleyan Church from 2000-2016. Skip lost Sally in December 2004, and at that point he focused his time, energy and finances on ministry until he passed away November 7, 2020. Skip is survived by his three children; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
