Charles loved his family along with antiques, especially old tools and bottles. He had a whole room dedicated to his old tools and conducted a side business selling his tools, even in later years from his apartment in assisted living. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed watching the wake on top of the pond he created as the large catfish would swim to eat the food he brought in the morning, he loved living in the country.
He served in the Coast Guard and worked as a Ship Designer for Ingall’s Shipbuilding where his coworkers remember him as “a great master shipbuilder” Charles was called out of retirement several times and worked well into his seventies.
Charles is survived by five children; David and Elizabeth Stow of Williston, ND, Richard and Debby Stow of San Diego, CA, Cheryl Stow of Henrico, VA, Paul Morvant of Ragley, LA and Jonathan and Lisa Morvant of Ragley, LA. Twelve grandchildren Danny (Stephanie), Gabriel, Rachel (Robert), Riley, Laura, Shae, Martha, Michael, Lydia, Anna, Ester and Shelby. Six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Rita Louise Chance Stow, his parents Charles and Lettie Stow, his brother Bob Stow and sister Jeanette Weber.
Graveside service will be held at Hampton Memorial Cemetery in Elizabeth, LA on Saturday, May 6th 2023 when he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Rita.
