Barbara "Bobbie" was born in San Diego on October 3, 1938. She spent her whole life living in San Diego County, moving to El Cajon in the 60s. Bobbie was a licensed foster mom for over 50 years caring for developmentally disabled young men. Bobbie will be remembered for her sense of humor, her laugh, her ability to be a peacekeeper, and her love of those close to her.
Barbara, age 85, of El Cajon, California passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Bobbie is survived by her daughter Christie Gocke (John Gocke); her son Thomas Sullivan (Charlotte Sullivan); her sister Patricia White and her brother Kenneth Colvin.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her sister Christina Hanson.
Bobbie also leaves 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Bobbie will be held Monday, August 12, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at El Cajon Mortuary and Cremation Service, 684 South Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at El Cajon Cemetery, 2080 Dehesa Rd, El Cajon, CA 92019.
