It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Barbara Jean Andersen, who left us on July 11, 2024, in La Mesa, CA, at the age of 83. Barbara was born on February 1, 1941, in Kansas City, MO, to her beloved parents, Ivan C. Brown and Ethel E. Brown. She grew up in Kansas City, where she completed her high school education.
Barbara had an extraordinary love for her dogs and cats. She was not only a loving pet owner but also an expert knitter and seamstress. She could create beautiful sweaters, blankets, and intricate designs with her skilled hands. Her determination knew no bounds, as she could accomplish any task she set her mind to. From re-roofing their house to rebuilding an engine, there was nothing she couldn't handle. Barbara also had a green thumb and a passion for photography, having spent many hours tending to her vibrant garden and capturing breathtaking moments with her camera. She was always willing to help a neighbor in need and took charge of the neighborhood watch group, ensuring the safety of everyone around her.
Barbara shared a wonderful journey through life with her cherished spouse, Lester D. Andersen. Together, they built a life of love and partnership. Despite her busy schedule, she was devoted to her husband, and they embarked on countless adventures, traveling all over the US in their RV. Their shared love for exploration and experiencing new places brought them even closer together.
Barbara will be placed to rest at Greenwood Memorial Park. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
