On August 12, 2020, Waltraud (Trudy) Florian passed away peacefully. She is survived by her children, Inge (Terry) Wilson, Heinz Florian, Arnold Florian (Carole Sim), Frank Florian (Rondy Kyle) and Richard (Michelle) Florian; her grandchildren, Cory Wilson, Kelly (Trish) Wilson, and Kandis (Michael) Neth, Aaron, Ashley and Tim Florian, Denise, Daniel and Kate Florian, and Adisyn and Grady Florian; and her great-grandchildren, Julianna and Koryssa Wilson and Aiden, Kylie and Holly Neth. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Florian, in 2003, and her mother, Antonia Leonhartsberger, in 1993. In keeping with Trudy's wishes, there will be no service.
Trudy moved to Edmonton from Austria in 1960 with her young family, starting a new life in Canada. Trudy was a strong and resilient woman, hardworking, a talented seamstress and knitter, and loved to spend time in her garden. She loved her family and delighted in spending time with her many grandchildren. Trudy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had an incredibly big heart and will be missed by us all.
We are grateful to the staff at the Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert and the Miller Crossing Long Term Care Home for their kindness and care for Trudy, and for making it possible for us to be with her virtually when we couldn't be with her in person.
