He was predeceased by his parents, Bayne and Grace Meisner; and brother, Michael Meisner. Terry is survived by his son, Craig (Liz) Meisner of Alexandria, Virginia and grandchildren, Brooklyn and Sophie Meisner. Terry was born May 3, 1942 in Marie Joseph, Nova Scotia. He was one of two children raised on the southeastern shore of Nova Scotia.
He was the first in the family to attend university and graduated from Dalhousie University with his Bachelor and Masters of Engineering. He lived in Dartmouth/Halifax, NS for 27 years, Eldorado, SK for three years, Ft. McMurray, AB for 22 years, and Edmonton, AB for 21 years. Although a maritimer at heart, Terry was always fond of the North. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling to his lake lot in Lac La Biche, AB. Terry "the Bin Mother", as he was known by colleagues, retired from Suncor in Ft. McMurray in 1994 after 21 years of service and then moved to Edmonton to live with his son (Craig) who was completing his Masters of Science degree in Environmental Economics. He will be missed for his stories and laughter.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Memories Funeral Home (13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB). A light snack and refreshments will be served after the service.
