A beautiful Canada Day baby, Simon was born to Harriet Halpenny and Chris Cameron at the General Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
He was educated in Edmonton, and attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, earning his degree as a Baker; where he met his wife, Marie Feist. Simon worked for a number of food services companies, before illness made this not possible.
Simon enjoyed music, particularly The Beatles. He learned to play the guitar and was awesome with an AC/DC guitar song. Simon cheered for the Edmonton Oilers and wore his jersey with pride. He found gaiety and humour in life.
Simon is survived by his wife, Marie; twin sons, Peter and Malcom; father, Chris; brother, Jason of Edmonton; sister, Megan (Nathan) of Johannesburg, South Africa; mother-in-law, Terry; nieces and nephews in Edmonton and Johannesburg, as well as many aunts, uncles and extended family in Ontario and Nova Scotia.
Simon was predeceased by his mother, Harriet.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the tender care and support of Dr. Christopher Gee and the staff of Capital Care Lynnwood who cared for Simon for nearly four years; and to Dr. Guo and Dr. Iqbal of the Misericordia Hospital.
