1922 ~ 2013
On May 17, 2013 at the age of 90 our beloved father and grandfather passed away at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans after a long battle with age-related illnesses. We take comfort knowing he is at peace and in a better place. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Kipnes staff for their kindness and compassion. Peter is survived and lovingly remembered by his daughters, Sharleen Douglas (Doug Morgan), Laurette Morris (Romeo Esposito), Kerry (Rodney) Murray and Beverly Morris (Lanny Lund); six grandchildren, Peter, Ryan, Amy, Cole, Ricky, Nicole; one great granddaughter, Cheney; uncle Steve (Mary) Kmiech; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends, especially George Cutting, his war buddy and friend of over 70 years and Calgary friends of more than80 years. Peter was predeceased by his parents Peter and Kathleen Morris; in-laws Richard and Isabel MacGillycuddy; his wife and soul mate Janette; only brother and best friend Jim; sister-in-law Beryl and grandson Lennon. Peter was a proud Canadian who served his country in WWII as a member of the No. 1 Provost Corp (RCMP), and after the war as a 21-year member of the RCMP. After retiring from the RCMP he worked 20 years for provincial social services. Dad was known for living life to the fullest and treating everyone he met with dignity and respect.
