Peter Joseph Kelly

June 4, 1933 – August 15, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce that our dear dad and papa, Joe, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Edmonton, on August 15, 2013.

He will be welcomed to heaven by his beloved wife, Kay and son, Gregory.

He will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Maureen and son-in-law, Guy Bertrand and daughter, Kathleen and son-in-law David Wasyliw; son, Michael and daughter-in-law, Lisa; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Shannon, Michael, Matthew, Alexandra, Samuel, Michael Henry, Katelyn and Nathan. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Sr. Mary, F.C.J. and brother, Jim (Maria); as well as many dear relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Blanche and Michael; and brothers, Mike, Jack, Dan, Ernie and Lawrence. Joe worked for the Edmonton Catholic School Board for 33 years supporting Catholic education. With gratitude, we remember how Joe lived the Gospel values of gentleness, humility, kindness and integrity in every domain of his life. A special thank you to Dr. Brian Ritchie, the nurses on Spruce Meadows as well as the support staff, for their care and compassion during our dad’s time at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Prayer Service on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 7:30 pm at Hainstock’s Funeral Home (9810 – 34 Avenue). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 23, 2013 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (210 Haddow Close). In memory of Joe, donations may be made to Parkinson Alberta (#102, 11748 Kingsway Ave, Edmonton, AB T5G 0X5) or to St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital Foundation (10707 – 29 Ave, Edmonton, AB T6J 6W1).
