Born in 1963 in West Germany, Oliver was the only child of Rainer and Hildegund Seifert. Against all odds, he survived open heart surgery at an early age to help correct the heart defect that would eventually claim his life 50 years later. After studying medicine in Germany, he travelled to South Africa to complete his residency - where he would meet, fall-in-love with, and marry his wife Anita. They would move from Germany to South Africa, to England, and finally to Canada over the span of twelve years. During this time, they raised two equally-tall boys - Alexander and Nicholas - and a german shepherd named Rajah. Practicing as both an anesthesiologist and a family physician, Oliver eventually settled and opened a clinic in Edmonton. Even after his early retirement in 2016, he continued to give back to his community as an active mentor and leader. He had a way with all animals, loved films, and long dinners with his family. His final years were spent doing what he loved with those he loved most, and he passed peacefully in his sleep in the home he built together with them.
