On February 26th 2023 aged 65, Nalina Ram Kumar died in Puttaparthi, India. She was a devout follower of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and chose to retire to India to be close to his ashram, Prashanthi Nilayam. During her time in India she was a team member and active practitioner of Sai Vibrionics - a system of healing that recognises each person is a unique combination of energies and components. It cures in a holistic way acting on the body’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual components by balancing energies and clearing blockages through vibrations. She was well loved by everyone around her who speak of her kindness and willingness to serve.
She is survived by her daughter Rathi, sister Jayasri, brother-in-laws Donald and Vasudevan, niece Varshini (Ajay), and nephews Aakash (Archana) and Ethan. She was predeceased by her husband Ram, her sister Ramamani and her parents Vasantha Lakshmi and Gopal.
Nalina lived the majority of her life in Edmonton where she was an active member of the Sai community. When she and Ram first moved to Edmonton, the Tamil society became her second family. She would regularly take part in cultural celebrations and help organise events during her early years in Edmonton. During this time she worked as a travel agent. She spread her love of travelling to her daughter, taking her to see the world with her from a very young age.
When her husband passed, Nalina went back to college. She would find her work home at the head office of a bank, where she stayed for 20 years until her retirement in 2020. She is fondly remembered by her colleagues for her focus on health, kindness and positivity.
A memorial service will be held on March 19th at 2 PM at Memories Funeral Home, 13404 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, Alberta. All are welcome to join the family for a reception following the service.
