Milton is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elaine, their three children Kevin, Jackie and Jamie (Joe), grandsons Nathan (Kaitlynn), Connor, Paolo, and Leo; daughter-in-law Cathy, sisters-in-law Freda and Faye, brother-in-law William Kuncio, and many nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Mary, brothers Frank (Audrey), Richard, Roger, sister Lorna and nephews Rick and Derrick.
Milton was born on October 4, 1940 in Edmonton, Alberta. His grandparents emigrated from the Ukraine and he enjoyed a rich Ukrainian heritage. He married Elaine in October of 1960 and they worked and raised their family in Edmonton surrounded by family. They enjoyed camping and travelling over the years. They later had a cabin at Skeleton Lake, Alberta and had many great times and events there with family and friends. Milton was a locksmith and owned Master Locksmith for 28 years until he retired in 2005. He volunteered in retirement, including at the Legion in Boyle, Alberta and enjoyed horseshoe and crib tournaments at the lake. Milton had a big personality, loved jokes, watching sports (especially cheering on the Oilers and the Elks), he enjoyed celebrating family events, had a great singing voice and liked singing with friends at parties.
In the last years of his life he developed dementia. He was lucky to be supported by Elaine and surrounded by good friends, including those from his condo complex, Chelsea Greene. His dementia progressed and he slipped away.
The family wishes to thank the exceptionally competent, caring and kind staff at St. Michael’s Long-term Care Centre.
A funeral service will be held at Memories Funeral Home 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton.
