(née Aboussafy)
1947 - 2013
Lynn passed away in peace, comfort, love and dignity on April 19 with primary peritoneal cancer.
She was born and grew up in Wetaskiwin and graduated from the Edmonton General Hospital School of Nursing in 1968. She then worked in Labour and Delivery at the Edmonton General Hospital, where the attractive, professional and caring nurse caught the attention of her future husband.
Lynn was bright and positive, an avid reader and she loved her wonderful friends, bridge, golf, word games, cooking and dining, and time at the lake, rain or shine. She excelled as a wife and mother, if not at golf. She provided a wonderful understanding and balance while she supported her husband’s work and hobbies.
Lynn is survived by her loving and grateful husband, Dr. James Boulton, and daughter Kathy (Matt LaFleche) and her brother George Aboussafy (Laurie). She also leaves to celebrate her life, step-sons, Jamie (Anita), Rob (Tadra) and Geoff and grandchildren Taylor, Jordan and Landon. Other family in Edmonton are her close cousins Jack and Jan Aboussafy and Audrey Aboussafy Wood (Brian).
A positive aspect of this journey for Lynn and the family has been a greater appreciation of the many other people with serious illnesses, and their families. Special thanks for maintaining Lynn’s quality of life for over four happy years are due to Dr. Michael Sawyer and the staff of the Cross Cancer Institute and Dr. Irene Colliton. The family thanks the Home Care and Palliative Care nurses and the staff at the Mel Miller Hospice at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 210 Haddow Close on Friday April 26 at 2:00 PM. A family interment will take place at a later date in Wetaskiwin. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Caritas Foundation.
