LeRoy made the best uncle and will always be etched in my memory wearing his signature beige pants, button up shirt and sporting a mischievous grin. I have the fondest memories of him next to the bbq in his back yard, coming out of the garage in his cover alls, asking if I want to go to the auction sales, wrinkling his nose when he laughed and made jokes. Going forward I will ask myself “what would LeRoy do?” And I expect this will get me into trouble at least 50% of the time which will warrant a wrinkling of the nose and a mischievous grin.  

I knew Leroy for most of my tenure with EFRS - being involved with the training  branch for the last few years Leroy and his Department provided the best of service ensuring that our apparatus was functional -and that we were able to provide the Citizens of Edmonton the best of the best...….. I am more than sure that he took his position and duty  ensuring  this was the same within EFRS operations. RIP

In life, we cross paths with many people where we tend not to remember. For me, LeRoy was one of the most kind, compassionate and caring someone could cross paths with. I’ve always had trouble connecting with people being such a introverted person, but meeting this man inspired me to be as reliable and loyal. I truly wish spent more time getting to know this man, but every opportunity I did, conversations were endless with stories and laughter. My condolences for his friends and family, LeRoy was truly the definition of a friend and a father that wouldn’t let you down.

I was incredibly saddened to hear of LeRoy’s passing. My heart goes out to Corey, Trina, and the rest of the family. The world is a lesser place without his smile, laughter, and friendship. I met LeRoy 17 years ago while attending university in Edmonton and he soon became one of my closest friends. I have fond memories of taking our dogs up to his farm to shoot rifles, roast hot dogs, and star gaze. We shared countless dinners together over the years that always led to stimulating discussions because he had such an innate and passionate curiosity about our world. We would get lost in conversation about aliens, advancements in science and technology, and of course, cars. LeRoy was the first person I called when I was considering buying a classic car not just because of his mechanical expertise, but because my trust in his opinion was unwavering. Simply put, he was an honest, genuine soul who was always there to support you. He was there for my dissertation defense, my graduation, and when I moved to the United States for work and was feeling all alone, LeRoy came down to visit. Although the physical distance between us grew over the years, LeRoy always had time to chat on the phone and catch up. I am so very fortunate to have had such a good friend. Seeing his face turn beet red from laughter always made me smile and this is how I will remember him, as the guy who made others feel better just by being in his presence.

Leroy was always in a good mood, he kept the trucks running. I am sorry for your loss. Leroy is remembered.

Leroy and I met at NAIT in 1975. We had so much in common and developed a life long friendship. Always enjoyed our visits to Edmonton and sharing many stories . Leroy and Jean are that special brand of people that for sure will go to a special place for the best of the best. We shared so many stories about fleet management and all the crazy stuff that it involves. Leroy should be very proud of the life he lived and the family he raised. All very special people. I was so fortunate to have known him. All my best go out to Cory,Trina, and Sheila. 

I only had the opportunity to meet Mr Carlson through Trina , he was a very  gentle soul full of kindness and his biggest fan was Trina . He was there to support and love  his family trough the hardest of times and I am very thankful I got to meet him . RIP beautiful soul .  Krista and Calvin

My sincere condolences on the loss of your dad.  I was so shocked when I heard of his passing.  He and your Mom were best man and bridesmaid at my wedding (which happened soon after you were born Cory!) Your Dad was also our business partner at our motorcycle shop  in Fort McMurray.  Your Dad was a great guy and I know he will be deeply missed.  Sending love at this very difficult time. ❤️

Very sad to learn of Leroy's passing. Leroy was a lifelong friend, business partner, and a most helpful and kind person to everyone. I was fortunate to have spent great times with Leroy fishing at Schuman Lake, riding motorcycles together, and enjoying life when we were teenagers, with that friendship continuing throughout our lives. 
Leroy's father, Helge and my grandfather were friends beginning many years ago when the first came to Canada. 
Leroy will be deeply missed.
