Krishnasamy Naidoo

Krishnasamy (Kris/Satchee) Naidoo of Edmonton, Alberta passed away on March 2, 2023. He was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa to the late Mr. and Mrs. K. (Crane) Naidoo. He grew up with his brothers Satha, Loggie, Nithia, and his sisters Devagie, and Premie.

Until he immigrated to Canada in 1980, Kris/Satchee owned Satchmo Electrical where he became the first Indian Electrician in Pietermaritzburg, and he was also the part owner of the famous New Homes Hotel. In Canada, Kris/Satchee worked as an electrician with the Union 424 and Early Childhood Educator. Kris/Satchee was active in the fight for equality in South Africa.

He was a deeply devoted father to his only daughter Koomershree and spent his life providing for his family, he loved them more than anything. Kris/Satchee was a prolific story teller whose amazing memory greatly enhanced the stories of his life. He cherished his family and treasured their trips together to Vancouver Island and the Rockies.

Kris/Satchee is survived by his loving wife Indrainie (Dee/Dolly) and daughter Koomershree, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
