With fond memories the family of Katherine (Kay) Gorash announces her passing on September 9, 2020, just 12 days short of her 91st birthday. A wife for 47 years, a widow for 24 years, a mother, a mother-in-law, a Baba, a Great Baba, a sister, an aunt and a friend. We will miss her kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness and humour.
She is survived by daughter Judy (John) Megill, of St. Albert; daughter-in-law Barbara Gorash of Edmonton;
granddaughters Jennifer (Justin)Megill Pavlis of Langley, BC; and Allyson (Jason) Gorash Sauve of Westlock; great grandchildren Emerson John Pavlis and MacKenzie Kay Pavlis of Langley, BC; sister Robbin Logozar of Edmonton, and numerous extended family members.
She was predeceased by her parents, Natalie (Slotozan) (1954), and Demetro Zawerucha (1978); father-in-law Hrysko Gorasz (1954); 4 brothers, 4 sisters, husband Dave (Dmytro) (1996), Dave’s 2 brothers and 4 sisters; and son Jack (2017).
Thank you to Dr. Nam for years of care and support, River Ridge for being ‘home’ for 2 ½ years, caregivers at Norwood RCU, Grey Nuns Unit 43, and Dr. Bennett and Foyer Lacombe for keeping her comfortable during her final days.
Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a private family service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
