Joseph Gerald (Jerry) Arsenault
1929 to 2014
Joseph Gerald (Jerry) Arsenault was born on February 5, 1929 in Sackville, New Brunswick to the late
Fredrick and Margaret Arsenault. He was the second youngest of seven children.
He passed away in Edmonton on April 23, 2014 at the age of 85.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cora; and, his children: David(Gloria), Michael(Debbie) and
Barbara(Blair) and son in law, Les. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren and his sister, Lillian. He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia.
In 1951, Jerry joined Royal Canadian Air Force and served throughout Canada and Europe retiring in
1977. He was very proud of his time in Armed Forces and the service to his country. Following
retirement from the “Service”, he worked at University of Alberta and for Southside Welding.
Jerry was actively involved in hockey throughout his life as a player, coach, referee, fan and someone
who always had an opinion on how to do things better. His other joy in life was traveling and
“camping”. He built his first trailer and was happiest at a campsite with his family (especially his
grandchildren around). There was always a special place for friends around the campfire especially the
Black Feather gang on their trips throughout Alberta and as snowbirds in Arizona and California.
Jerry made lifelong friends easily and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could.
You are invited to join the family for fellowship and refreshment following the service.
