Jeff was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a force of personality who filled every room he walked into, and he leaves behind an immeasurable silence.
Jeff was born in Edmonton and is survived by his mother Kirsten Lickacz, his sisters Susanna (Kelly) Roberge, Julie Lickacz, and Lindsay (Ignacio) Lebensohn, and nieces and nephews, Lorne, Julia, Elliott, and Stella. He also leaves behind a large extended family in Denmark. He is predeceased by his father Bob Lickacz and his infant brother David.
Jeff was a caring soul who would lend a hand to anyone in need of help, often to his own detriment. He had a soft spot for cats and he was known to pick up and adopt strays he found to give them better homes.
Jeff had a passion for all things motorized, especially his beloved Mustang, on which he spent many hours tinkering and in which he offered anyone hair-raising rides. His best days were spent quadding with his friends and nieces and nephews in the river valley around his childhood home near Edmonton.
Jeff was a proud boilermaker who alongside his union brothers and sisters worked shutdowns in power plants and refineries all over Alberta. Through boomtimes and downturns he endured long hours of hard dirty work far from home to help provide the rest of us with safe, reliable electricity and fuel.
He was the rock on whom his family and friends depended, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
A Funeral Service for Jeff will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium (9810 - 34 Ave., Edmonton, AB).
