It is with deep sadness that the family of Jean Theresa Cooper announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Left to cherish her memory are Sons: Allan (Anne-Marie), Gary (Laura), Murray (Cindy), Darwin (Lynn), Dana and Daughter: Donna (Bob). Grandchildren: Shawn, Bradley, Sarah, Matthew, Christopher, Amanda (Keegan) and Chris. Jean will also be missed by her sister, Helen, numerous nieces and nephews and a very special Campbell Family. Born on a homestead in Thorhild, Alberta, Jean was raised as a young girl until she relocated to Edmonton with her family in mid 1940’s. She would settle and find the love of her life, marry and have six children. Jean lived her life selflessly with honor, pride and non-judgment. As a young widow she raised her six children independently teaching them integrity, fairness and instilled values of family and friendship. Her love, generosity and kindness extended to strangers and those in need when she served as the Manager of the St. Vincent de Paul store. Jean gave endlessly to supporting those that had less as was witnessed by all those who were invited into her Christmas wonderland for the small price of a donation to the Food Bank. In earlier years, she gave her time to the Canadian Progress Club, Uncles at Large Program. She loved to garden and created a showpiece of flowers for all who walked by her home to enjoy. All those whose life she touched were truly blessed by an angel on earth. Jean will be missed deeply. Jean was predeceased by: Husband (Dennis), Mother (Tophillia), Father (Kazmer), Sister Agnes (Ziggy), Brother Stan (Florence) and niece Joan. All who knew and loved Jean are welcome to join her family celebrate her life on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Resurrection, 10555 50 A Street, Edmonton, Alberta. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Edmonton Food Bank or Catholic Social Services Sign of Hope in Jean’s honour.
