It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jared Alexander Serle-Merriam announces his peaceful passing in the loving arms of his parents to be with Jesus, on May 22, 2018 in Edmonton, Alberta at the tender age of 21 years. He is survived by his mom and dad (Dan and Marilyn); his brothers, Tanner (Jennifer), Brady (Lacey), Breckke (Rebecca), Keill (Kaylyn), Kieran, Tenoa, Kayvis, Kanyon, Tayvin; his sisters Reanna and Breeyah; twin nephews Jaxon and Bennett; niece A’Niyah; and one unborn niece. He is also survived by his tummy mommy and sister, Bonita and Kelsey. Jared is predeceased by his sister Latisha.
By God’s grace Jared made his way to the Thorsby area to live with Dan and Marilyn Merriam and their family, at the tender age of 5 years old. Although Jared faced many medical challenges throughout his short life, he enjoyed life to the fullest. Jared loved Disney and so was granted a wish for a week long family trip to Disney World to see a live performance of The Lion King and the parks. Jared loved to read books and play Spiderman, spinning webs at everyone who came near him. Jared loved camping, travelling Alberta with his family. As time went on it became easier to spend camping days at our family cabin. Jared traveled across Alberta with his family on one vacation to Ontario and was able to meet and spend time with family there. Jared loved his church family giving a knuckle punch to all as he came through the front doors, and made his way to his special spot right in the front and middle of the sanctuary. Jared touched many lives and blessed his family with a sense of gratefulness for the simple things in life: walking, talking and eating. Jared leaves a very special place in many hearts.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Daystar Church, 3610 Gaetz Road, Leduc, Alberta.
