1924 ~ 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our father, papa, and great-papa James (Jim) Rollins McLean.
Just shy of his 90th birthday, Jim peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on the morning of July 1, 2014. Being a proud Canadian, who served with the Royal Canadian Airforce in World War II, it is befitting that his journey to heaven was on Canada Day.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Margaret McLean; daughter, Bonnie-Lea Clarke-Olive (Bill Olive) and son Scott McLean (Kim McLean); grandchildren Branna-Lea (James Maddox), Bud Clarke (Shannon Clarke), Kaila-Lea Clarke, Cole Clarke (Sherry Acheson), and Hailey and Keaton McLean; and great grandchildren Kaicee, Ozzy and Jaz Baronasky , and Bella and Maverick Clarke.
Jim is also survived by four sisters Margaret Miller, Charlotte Helm, Edith Wotherspoon, Mary Nelson, and one brother Bill McLean.
To celebrate Jim’s life and to pay your last respects to a man of great love, honour, and compassion you can do so on July 5, 2014 at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810-34 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta at 10:00 am with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House where Jim volunteered for many years.
