January 20th, 1934 – August 18th, 2011
Jim was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on January 20th, 1934 and passed away in Edmonton, Alberta on August 18th, 2011 after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 54 years Rae, children Scott (Tamara), Greg (Suzanne), Deb (Geoff) Gaul, Laura-Lyne Babiak; grandchildren Jonathan, Samantha, Kayla, Nicole, Madeleine, Michael, Matthew and Jessica. He also leaves behind his brother Gary of Winnipeg, Manitoba, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was pre-deceased by his parents Jim and Kay of Regina, Saskatchewan.
A service will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810-34 Avenue with a reception to follow.
Our family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of the Cross Cancer Institute for the outstanding care Jim received during his many visits to that facility.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation in care of Mesothelioma cancer research.
