Malone, Jack (John Edward) May 9, 1939 – May 15, 2024, With great sadness we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. Blackjack will be missed by his family and many friends in the pipeline industry. Jack always enjoyed talking about work, the tough times and working through them. Survived by his loving wife Joan; sons Shawn (Karen) of Calgary, Troy (Faye) of Red Deer; grandchildren Katie, Kian, Michael and Megan; sisters Pat, Donna and brother Paul. Predeceased by Jim, Frank, Wayne, Rondo, Glade and Bud.
Jack was born in Padstow Alberta. He grew up south of Mayerthorpe, went to Deer Lodge school and started working in the trucking industry with his brothers when he was fourteen. From there he got involved in the pipeline industry working for Majestic, Curran, and then building flow lines while running Pima Construction. Then, inspecting in Judy Creek and finally starting the pipeline division at North American. In their younger days Jack and Joan loved to have family and friends over for holiday celebrations with great food and the house was always packed and full of life! Jack always enjoyed going to Astros for lunch in west Edmonton until he retired at sixty-eight. For a while, Jack enjoyed country dancing with Joan and their group of friends. Jack loved to read biographies, walk, visit with neighbours and work in his cactus garden in his later years. Jack requested no celebration of life. Friends who so wish can make donations to the Stollery Childrens Hospital.
