Dear Kelly, Cole, Elayna, Nola, Our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your husband/father. We were shocked and saddened to hear this news. We were in Palm Springs and are so sorry that we weren’t able to attend the memorial. We watched the live stream which was a beautiful tribute to Greg. Regrettably we were unable to attend the Memorial Service held today for Greg.  Thank you very much for making it possible for us to join via livestream video.  Our thoughts and prayers have been with each of you since we learned of Greg’s passing.  What an extraordinary son, brother, husband, father and cousin and more, he was!  

I  fondly recall that you (Carol) and I were expecting the arrival of  our first children about the same time.  It was a very exciting time.  One of my earliest memories of Greg is being absolutely amazed (ok, I really mean, totally blown out of the water!) when looking at a picture he drew at a very early age.  Talk about phenomenal talent!  

Your loss is monumental but we pray that you find comfort in fond memories…many of which  were captured in Greg’s Tribute Movie.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Greg’s passing. He was one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever met. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Kelly, their kids and family during this difficult time. 

I attended Grant MacEwan alongside Greg and had the privilege of working with him for many years at Backstreet. He was a very talented illustrator and designer. He brought a special warmth to our workplace at the Strathcona house. He always looked on the positive side of things and people. 

He approached projects with great enthusiasm and creativity. His illustrations were spot on, detailed, with a bright colour palette and always fun! He brought joy and laughter to everything he did. I do remember going once on a work team building activity day, with the main event becoming who could find Greg’s wedding ring that had somehow fallen off. We shared a passion for illustration and design, and a love of basset hounds. He will be deeply missed in the design community and in the world.
