Gerald Edward Warren, 93, of Edmonton, Alberta passed away on February 5, 2024. He was born to parents Thomas and Mildred (Totterdell) on February 22, 1930. Gerald grew up on the family farm near Wabamun Lake, Alberta. Gerald raised his family with his wife Edna in Edmonton. He was predeceased by his wife Edna, brother William, sister Alice Stix, son Donald, daughter Linda and grandson Cody. Gerald is survived by his two sons Ross and Wayne (Kaninsee), daughter-in-law Brenda and grandchildren Daina (Chaundra), Leah, Sasha, Derek (Emily), Kyle (Megan), Sabina and Simon. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, his companion Esther Thew and many good friends.
Gerry had an exemplary career starting in 1951 as a locomotive engineer with Canadian National Railways. After retirement, he enjoyed travelling with wife Edna and later with his companion Esther. Gerry enjoyed nature and the outdoors, going to the lake, reading, dancing and visiting with family and friends. His kind and generous demeanour will leave a lasting legacy with anyone fortunate enough to have known him. He will be truly missed.
A celebration to honour Gerry’s life will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail Edmonton, AB on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 10:30 am with an inurnment at St. Albert Cemetery to follow. Cremation entrusted to Memories Funeral Home.
