With heavy hearts and great sadness, Francis Richard (Dick) passed away suddenly Friday, August 24, 2012. Dick was born February 12, 1924 in Forget, Saskatchewan.
Dick is survived by his loving wife Madeleine, his son Terence, his daughter Heather (Jerry) and his sister Myrle Grainger and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Elaine, his brothers and sisters Claude, Maxine, Gordon, Edwin, Stan, and his parents Belva and Roy Cheesman.
He moved from the farm in Saskatchewan to Edmonton in 1955 and began working in construction. Later he went to university and received his degree in education and became a teacher for the Separate School Board. Most of his teaching career was teaching grades 4 to 6 at Our Ladies of Victories.
Dick’s greatest loves were golfing, camping and traveling.
He will be remembered for his kind quiet demeanor and for his gardening.
Dick’s Funeral will be held at St. Thomas More Church, 210 Haddow Close at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 31st. Viewing will take place at 10 a.m. in the Chapter Room.
