Eric, Happy Birthday! Mom and dad miss you.

My fondest memories of Eric was in Grade 11 where together with Jerry and Guanhao, the four of us would sit in the back of Mrs Yin’s Chinese room playing Brawl Stars. We had so much fun together: laughing and joking about how bad I was at the game. Eric possessed a unique and awesome personality. He was kind, caring, deeply intelligent and compassionate. He was also sarcastic, funny and sometimes self deprecating. Eric would often joke about his sleep schedule and academics amid a wide range of topics. However he was also very quiet, unassuming to the extent that it wasn’t evident he was battling his own inner demons. Although we grown apart in Grade 12, I will always remember Eric as a wonderful friend to me and to others as well. Rest in peace, brother. You will be missed.

I only knew Eric well for a few months. I kept thinking I would have all the time in the world with him, and I've been so sad that this time has been cut short. This is a photo of a 3 hour walk to the Valley Zoo we had earlier this summer. I'll miss all the long walks like these. I hope you rest in peace, Eric.

This was taken by a friend of ours, Brianna, during writing our final drafts of our extended essays. He was well known for being so smart, kind, insomniac, and for saying that the due date for assignments was the time to start working on them. I will miss him, and I won’t forget all the memories I have of him. I wish for one day to learn the kindness that he showed to everyone.

Rest in peace my best friend, I hope the afterlife is what you wanted.

Matcha “Date” with Eric in BC: we spent the better half of the day together, just us. We then just chatted and vibed for a bit, and I asked to find a cafe and he obliged. He was very patient and kind, but often made self-deprecating comments. Though the matcha was bitter, it had its own tones and flavours, making for a delightful experience. We can say this about Eric too. Though he may not have been particularly content, he has his own undertones, his own qualities, that make us all want to spend a little more time together. My boi and beloved friend, I’ll miss ya.
