

Elena Cordova, born on August 14th, 1940 in Santiago, Chile, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Wednesday, July 10th, at the age of 83.
Elena was known for her vibrant sense of humor, love for entertaining, and exceptional cooking. Despite her battle with dementia in her later years, her joyous spirit continued to shine, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Elena emigrated with her family to Edmonton, Canada, on December 13, 1975, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and resilience. Elena was predeceased by her parents, Juan and Lucilla Corona, and her little brother Juan. Elena is survived by her ex-husband Armando; three sons, Ed, Andres and his wife Carolina, and Alvaro and his wife Julie; three grandchildren, Roberto, Alicia and Antonio, who were the light of her life as well as 6 great-grandchildren from her granddaughters, Ingrid Munoz (Brandon Horton) and Chantal Christiansen (Marty Christiansen). Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever remember her warmth and kindness and the joy she brought into their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to organizations dedicated to dementia research.
A Visitation for Elena will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Memories Funeral Home and Crematorium, 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton; her Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Northern Lights Cemetery in Edmonton.
