Denise Marie Stewart

the passing of Denise on January 10, 2014

of St. Albert at age 71.

Born in Westlock, Alberta,

she will be lovingly remembered

by her husband Duncan;

sons Don (Melanie) Checknita and Todd Checknita;

brother Tom (Sharon); step-son Blair (Dawn) Stewart;

brother-in-law Ed (Ronda) Shirley;

grand-children Danielle, Douglas, Mackenzie;

nephews and nieces Darren, Derek, Scott, Chris,

Michelle, Perry and Curtis;

step-grand-children Jamie, Amanda and Shayla;

step-great-grand-children Mackenzie and Braydon.

Denise was predeceased by her parents

Ed and Alice Gagnon; sisters Jeanette Shirley,

and Laura (Clayton) Elder;

step-mother Annette Gagnon.

In 2007, Denise retired from Sears after 35+ years

where she made so many life time friends.

Denise had a great love for animals,

evident by the number of dogs and cats

that she cherished and nurtured for most of her life.

Until recently, Denise volunteered her time as president

of her condo board were she lived in St. Albert.

Her caring nature and willingness to help others

made her that special person in so many people’s lives.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A service to celebrate Denise’s life will be held

Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.

at Memories Funeral Home,

13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, Alberta.
