Darlene was born in Lethbridge in 1933, to William Edward Hunsaker and Doris Virginia (nee Anderson). She married Alasdair in 1950 and moved shortly after to Edmonton. After Alasdair passed, Darlene raised her two children on her own and attended NAIT while working as a dental assistant. She married Bert Boyson in 1973.
Darlene was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved to sing and joined many choirs including the Alberta Singing Mothers Choir which performed at General Conference in the Tabernacle at Temple Square in Salt Lake City October 1967. She served in many different Church callings, with the Primary Association, the Young Women’s organisation, with the Relief Society, as a Temple worker in both Mesa and Edmonton, and (with her husband Bert Boyson) as senior missionaries in California. Her dedication to service extended to all those she knew and loved, and she leaves an enduring legacy of charity and kindness to others. Her family is grateful for her many sacrifices on their behalf, her enduring diligence, and her stellar example of faith through adversity. She is greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday November 5th, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Bearspaw Chapel, 1203 – 109th Street, Edmonton AB.
