So many happy memories from childhood continuing on to writing classes last year!  A life well lived. My sorrow and sympathy to Doug , Haley, Jennifer and Heather.   May your wonderful memories fill your hearts.

I had the pleasure and privilege of teaching Cyndy Travel and Tourism , which she decided to study while living in Johannesburg, South Africa - around 1998 I think. I discovered Cyndy was the teacher - she taught me what it means to be kind, brave and fun-loving and to always make the most of life. She invited us around for dinner and we’ve been friends ever since. Every Christmas I looked forward to receiving the annual summary of her travels with Doug and highlights with her beloved daughters and grandchildren. Those updates followed us to Auckland, New Zealand - where Cyndy and Doug came to stay - and then to Sydney, Australia. where we last had a chance to host this wonderful couple.  I feel comforted to know that Cyndy’s light continues to shine in the hearts of her family, while she rests in Heaven.

I knew Cyndy as a young boy (89-95) when I lived in Malawi as she was friends with my parents. My sister was also very close to Haley. Although being so young and my memories are a little hazy from that time, I cannot forget Cyndy’s warmth and kindness. She was a genuine person and had a great, positive energy about her. When I would visit her house or go on trips with them, on many occasions she would tell me how she felt bad that I was always  surrounded by so many ladies young and old! I should add that almost 20 years later I am still surrounded by ladies to this day with my wife and 2 daughters so not much has changed! Deepest sympathy for your loss. Cyndy has been in my thoughts and I look forward to going through some of the memories again from that time 🙏🏻

Although I did not see much of Cyndy since our childhood days, her siblings and mine have shared her generous and enthusiastic life with me.  How she will be missed.  So to Doug, Jennifer, Heather, Haley, our thoughts are with you these days.  Also to Paula, Kingsley ,Greg and Daren.   Cyndy embraced life to the full and certainly added a lot to the cousin tapestry. 
    What a marvelous life..especially the Africa part.

We shared so many fun times, laughter and a lot of amazing meals over the years - one of my favorite being my introduction to Ethiopian food in Ottawa. You are missed greatly, Cyndy. Thinking of all your friends and family who miss you so much. <3 

I still can’t believe my dear friend Cyndy has left this earth. I was indeed blessed to have had a beautiful conversation with her couple of weeks prior. 
In my 20 years in Sherwood Park I met Cyndy, she was one of a kind person, someone very special, we would acknowledge each other’s birthdays and Christmases, she even spend some time with me in Arizona. We joined Red Hat, garden club, swimming & in another group called “just friends”
She was always there for health advice,, books referrals & travel advice.
She is deeply miss I think of her everyday. She was a very precious person.
Cyndy I love you, Rest In Peace my friend.

Cyndy was my kindness and most loyal friend. She always kept you in her mind if you were having a bad time. Always dedicated to whatever she did whether it be church ,garden club, quilting ,writing club or book club. She had a very quick mind and juggled so many areas in her life and made it look easy. She loved her family so much and I am sure her grandchildren will always remember the special times she had with them and the quilts she lovingly made for each of them.
 I will really miss this special friend of mine. Thinking of you all at this sad time.

I first met Cynthia in Tanzania. We were with CUSO.(Canadian University Services Overseas).  I remember having our first Christmas gathering in Tanzania at Cindy and Doug’s house. We have such wonderful shared memories. Over the years we have stayed in touch.  She was such a connector. BringIng friends together was her specialty. Rich in ideas and talents, the ideas flew off her like sparks. We will miss her so much. Our condolences to Doug and the family. 

I was saddened to learn of Cynthia's passing. She was such a lovely lady. She always had a friendly smile and ready for a conversation,  whenever we'd meet. My thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time.
