Cynthia is survived by her daughters, Tasha (Adam) Grant, of Thorsby, daughter Jennifer (Jason) Grant of Edmonton; siblings, Shirley (Neil) Henderson, Ken (Marisa) Hakstol, Valerie (Clay) Dean; and her parents, John and Veronica Hakstol. Her two grandchildren, Cole and Brooklyn will dearly miss Cynthia.
Cynthia was born November 15, 1959, in Edmonton and was raised on the family farm near Warburg, Alberta. She attended Warburg school until graduation and went on to receive her Registered Nursing License. Cynthia was devoted to her husband, her family and was so proud of her young grandchildren. Cynthia and Shane met while in high school and married in 1980. They brought two beautiful girls into the world in 1982 and 1988. Cynthia and her family treasured trips to Jasper and spending summer weekends camping near Pigeon Lake.
Cynthia made everyone she encountered feel important and was happiest when helping others, she was truly a selfless person. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, October 8th, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (210 Haddow Close NW, Edmonton, AB) at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
