Clay Gilley

Clay was born February 22, 1966 to Stephen and Evelyn Gilley of Deer Lake, NL on February 22, 1966. He grew up in Deer Lake and received his early education in Deer Lake.

After graduation he worked at various jobs in the area and then went on to the College of North Atlantic in Stephenville, NL where he completed The Linesman Course. Of course the lure of Alberta finally got him and he decided to move. It was a wonderful move for him because it was here that he met Tammy. They were married on March 28, 1998 and, together they had two children, Victoria and Matthew.

Clay enjoyed moose hunting, quading, fishing, snowmobiling; and of course hockey – specifically Philadelphia Flyers and Calgary Flames.

Left to mourn his untimely death are his wife, Tammy (Gushue) Gilley, daughter, Victoria, son, Matthew; parents, Stephen and Evelyn Gilley; parents-in-law – David and Bernetta Gushue; brothers, Tyrone (Roberta) Ball, Dean (Christine) Humphries and Kerry Gilley; sisters, Clarice (Bud Norman) and Colleen (Dave Suley); sisters-in-law, Patty (Marcus Hollett), Dinah Fillier and Corina (Chris Pittman); special friend, John Tam as well as a wide circle of family and friends.

A visitation for Clay will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Morinville Alliance Church, 10017 99 Street, Morinville, AB T8R 1B3. A Graveside Service will occur Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Morinville Cemetery, 10504 100 Street, Morninville, AB T8R 1K6. A Memorial Service will occur Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 10017 99 St, Morinville, Alberta T8R 1B3.
