Chris passed away with his loved ones by his side after a sudden illness at the University of Alberta hospital. Born August 2, 1990 he was the cherished son of Michael and Gail. Chris attended St. James Catholic High School and furthered his education at the University of Guelph and BCIT where he received his red seal in carpentry and rebar. Chris was always a free spirit who lived by his own path. At the age of 22 Chris left his home in Fergus Ontario to embark on a journey to British Columbia. It was there that he met the love of his life Debra.
Together Chris and Debra lived a life filled with travel and excitement, ultimately finding their forever home in Grande Prairie AB. Shortly after they welcomed their beautiful daughters, Emily and Isabelle, bringing immeasurable joy to their lives. Chris put passion into every job he undertook. He honed his skill in construction and gained the knowledge to pursue his dream of starting his own business Rebel Reinforcing. Sadly journey in life was cut short leaving a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed by his wife Debra, their daughters Emily and Isabelle, their baby on the way, as well as his father Michael (Penny), mother Gail (Tony), brothers Alex (Crystal Anne), Andrew (Lindsay), sister Caitlin, nieces, nephews, cousins and his many friends. Chris is predeceased by grandparents Darcy and Ruby Counsell, and Henry and Maureen Jenkins.
We would like to give a big thanks to Dr. Michael Chow, and a huge thank you to the nursing staff in the neuro science ICU for the compassion and care they had for Chris.
Chris's infectious smile and contagious laugh will be dearly missed.
