Christina Anne James

Tina joins her family in heaven - sister Ruthie, mother Ruth, father Bruce, aunt Coggie and brother in law Don.

Tina is much loved by her husband of 52 years Larry, and three children Torrey, Nathan and Todd. Tina is cherished by three children in law, Cory, Sarah and Jen and adored by six grandchildren, Kaity & Kyle, Mady & Landden, and Jack & Claire. Tina is deeply cared for by many extended family and friends.

Tina first joined the University of Alberta community, graduating with two degrees majoring in library science. In 1971 she married Larry, her high school sweetheart. Shortly after they relocated to Ottawa and Tina began her library career at Carlton University. After 2 years they returned to their roots in Edmonton. Tina's career at the University of Alberta Cameron Library spanned over four decades and she loved her work and many colleagues.

Tina's favourite pastimes were golf, travel and caring for others. Tina began golfing as a junior at the Edmonton Country Club and continued golfing there with family and friends for over 60 years. In winter months, Tina and Larry escaped to warmer temperatures in Palm Springs and Las Vegas.

Tina's true purpose in life was seen and felt by friends and family at Sunday dinners, birthdays, and every holiday, especially Christmas. As legendary as Tina's turkey dinner and stuffing is, even more so is how she welcomed everyone to join. Tina also loved caring for all family pets and will be especially missed by Kirby.

Tina was the heart and soul of our family and will be greatly missed by all.

Our family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at the Cross Cancer Institute, Dr. Samuel Fanous at the Pilgrims Hospice and Peggy Dizon (R.N.) and team with Palliative Home Care, who all provided exceptional person-centred care for our beloved Tina.
