Calvin Don Klontz on July 5, 2023 died unexpectedly in his 71st year at the Grey Nuns Hospital, Edmonton, with his wife of 45 years, Ellen, at his side. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, and siblings Sherry (Duane) Leschert and Kerry (Janet) Klontz and numerous family and friends.
Calvin was born on Nov. 3, 1951 in Jasper, Alberta where he spent his early years. His school years were in Jasper, Edmonton, Irma and Wetaskiwin. He attended the University of Alberta, Edmonton, for his bachelors degrees, and in his later years Grant MacEwan and NAIT as he completed his CPA designation. Calvin worked for various NPOs (Not for profit organizations) in Edmonton and upon retiring volunteered as an Edmonton community ambassador.
Calvin loved camping, hiking and taking photographs with his favorite place being Jasper National Park. He was diligent and determined in his work with NPOs, and committed to supporting NPOs as an Edmonton CPA community ambassador.
A Mass of the Resurrection with reception will be held on July 22, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Theresa Parish Roman Catholic Church 7508 29 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB. Inurnment to follow will be held at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edmonton’s Food Bank, Goodwill Industries of Alberta, Covenant Health (Grey Nuns Hospital) or the charity of your choice.
