Bev was born and raised on a farm near Herronton, Alberta and attended school in Brant and Vulcan. She was an enthusiastic participant in farm life including 4-H, and lent her athletic talents to numerous sports teams. Bev trained as a dental assistant, and worked briefly in that field. She used her administrative skills in a variety of office settings including over 20 years up to retirement with Canadian Standards Association. The family lived in several places: Fox Creek, Slave Lake, Drumheller, Spruce Grove, Sarnia, and Edmonton, where Bev was an active volunteer with many community organizations and school councils. She continued her love of sports by participating in ladies soccer, golf, yoga, softball, and curling. Her sports endeavors offered opportunities to play and travel with trips to Italy, Mexico, and Greece. She and Don enjoyed other travels to Scotland, Hawaii, and the east coast. Music was always a love and joy for Bev. As a child she sang, played piano and guitar, and she enjoyed revisiting those pastimes in retirement, most recently with the “A Joyful Noise” choir. She took great pride and joy in her children and all of their accomplishments. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
