Barbara Florence Smith

Barbara was born April 15, 1939, in Calgary, Alberta. She leaves behind her 3 children; Blair (Cathy) Smith, Shelley (Greg) Farand and Todd Smith. Also mourning are her cherished 9 grandchildren; Amber, Ashley, Aaron, Krista, Samantha, Madison, Jessica, Desiree, and Leah, as well as 9 great grandchildren; Carson, Charlee, Logan, Ayslee, Bentley, Easton, Ethan, Brooklyn, and Cash.

She will be forever missed by her loving sister; Patricia (Albert) Innes who was by her side in her final days. She also leaves behind nieces; Shauna (Casey) Warrilow, Pam (Jeff) Farand, Debra (Terry) Hemeon, and Valerie (Keith) Seewalt and their children. Barbara was predeceased by her parents; Tom and Dorothy Gerlitz, sister; Shirley-Ann Classen, brother in law; Roger Classen, nephews; Danny Classen, Terry Classen, and niece; Shannon Classen.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nursing staff (especially Barbara’s favorite nurse, Kelly) from unit 19 at the Sturgeon Community Hospital for the compassionate care and respect provided in her final days. As well, we would like to thank Pastor Bob for providing spiritual comfort both to Barbara and the family during those difficult days. Last but not least we would like to thank therapy dog, Charlie, for his visits to Barbara.
