Alex grew up near Primate, Saskatchewan on the farm in a large family. He went to school in Primate until grade eight and then to St. Thomas College from grades nine to eleven and finished grade twelve in Macklin.
Alex completed his Journeyman Carpentry ticket from Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and then worked for his brother, Leonard, at Stang’s Construction.
On April 21, 1979 Alex married his love Glennis Gartner. Together they raised their three children in Macklin.
In 1981, Alex made a career change into Building Sales. He worked seven years with the Delta Co-op and from 1988 to present he worked for the United Farmers of Alberta (UFA) in both Provost and Fort Saskatchewan.
Through all the years Alex enjoyed playing and coaching ball, spending time with his family and friends and singing and cracking jokes.
On November 19, 2021, Alex was suddenly taken from us all at the age of 67.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Glennis; children, Jordan (Melanie) Stang, Jason (Nadine) Stang and Michelle (Tanner) Grusie; grandchildren, Brianna Stang, Luke and Linden Stang and Nash Grusie; as well as countless other siblings, relatives and friends.
Alex will always be remembered for his warm smile and kind heart and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
