William Orville Palmer, 85, died from a sudden onset of illness while surrounded by his wife Martha Seale Palmer, children and grandchildren. He was born on December 6, 1930, in Kansas City, MO. His parents were Earl & Alverda Palmer and Harry & Marian Blair. He was the youngest of 3 children and is survived by his sisters Harriet Phipps and Patty Cox Hampton Roloff. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a Business degree, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served 1952-1955 as an accountant in Victoria, Texas. Returning to his childhood hometown, Edmond, OK, he joined the First National Bank of Edmond and embarked on a 30 year career serving as the President and owner of the bank. He was a committed member of the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond serving in a variety of capacities. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He gladly served as a volunteer at Edmond Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha Seale Palmer and children, Eddie and Leigh Palmer Thompson & husband, Chris and Patsy Palmer, Steve and Lesie Palmer, and Emily Blaess and late husband John along with 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice. Services to celebrate his life will be 11:00am, Monday, February 22, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond. The family will be greeting visitors at Baggerley Funeral home on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
