Marzelle (Sandy) Madeline Ferguson passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born August 10, 1929, in Lamesa, Texas, to Beckham and Jessie Fields.
She spent her early life in Lubbock, Texas. She briefly attended Texas Tech University and later found her love, John C. Ferguson. They joined in marriage on May 5, 1951, and later moved to Oklahoma City to start a new adventure.
Sandy’s dedication to and passion for the arts, specifically painting and music, was one of her greatest joys - aside from her three sons. On their many travels, Sandy loved having Beau take her to art museums. A favorite experience of Sandy’s was painting while enjoying nature in Sante Fe, New Mexico. Sandy also had a lifelong love for dance. Her sons remember her dancing around the house to upbeat music, including the Glenn Miller Band.
She was a long time member of Village United Methodist Church and served as a docent at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum for many years. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Sandy will be dearly missed by her boys, family, and friends.
Sandy is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John C. Ferguson; her parents Beckham and Jessie Fields; brothers: Bruce Fields, twin Marshall Fields, and Waymon Fields; and sisters: Joe Dell Eudy and Laverne Meadows.
She is survived by her sons: Gary Ferguson and wife Kathi; John Ferguson and wife Jenny; Matthew Ferguson and wife Danielle; her sister Bonnie Smith; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
