Rosie (Rose) Marie Bellomy, 71, rejoiced to be home with her Lord and Savior on June 20th, 2018. Born on February 10, 1947 to Russell and Naomi Bellomy in Pasadena, CA, God’s purpose for Rosie was to lovingly bless others through her hugs, phone calls of cheer, contagious smiles, warm hospitality, greeting card ministry, faithful companionship, gifting homemade cakes and intercessory prayer. Rosie was a loving woman who radiated Christ's love while she lived in the areas of Bethany, Oklahoma City, Binger, and Edmond, OK.
Raised in a Christian home, Rosie brought her parents much joy and honor and remained close to them throughout their lives. Mother Naomi taught Rosie a devotion to God, positivity and a sense of humor. These lifelong traits showered joy to everyone Rosie knew. She learned a determined hard-work ethic, sense of adventure and faith in God from her father Russell. Her younger brothers Jim and Tim Bellomy were her lifetime close companions, protectors and joy-givers.
Rosie was married to her high school sweetheart for 39 years. She was a devoted mother to Lori (Wagner) Ford and Monty Wagner. Monty and Lori learned to trust God in all circumstances, to remain curious about God's amazing creation and to bless others through acts of service. You would find her supporting Lori's basketball games, school activities, theater productions and special music at church. She attended all Monty's little league baseball games, soccer games and school activities. She loved taking lake trips with her entire family. More recently, Rosie became Lori's dependable and loving caregiver during her Breast Cancer recovery. Rosie accompanied Lori to every medical appointment and showed her love through selfless acts of service.
Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Perry, Jacob and Sierra are her grandchildren by Lori. Rosie frequently drove the children to school, prepared parties and attended school performances. She helped whenever and wherever she was needed. Drake and Brock are her grandchildren by Monty. She enjoyed going to their sports activities, school activities, family parties. Rosie adored spending time with her family. She explored God's beautiful creation with them and encouraged them frequently with sweet cards and phone calls.
Her brother Jim could count on Rosie for cheer every time she called him on the phone. She would first giggle and then say, "It's me." That joyful feeling still lingered after their call ended. Nobody could squeeze more words on such epic greeting cards. Tim found how to make Rosie laugh and giggle with his frequent teasing. Rosie considered Cathy Bellomy (Tim's wife) to be the sister she never had. She was one of the happiest people they ever knew and they enjoyed taking family vacations together. Her travel bag was always packed for spontaneous road trips.
Great satisfaction was gained in her life through her roles of daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend but most of all, a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her soul was prepared for her last breath and she encouraged others to be ready for their last day too. Rosie's church family and neighbors were treated like family. She was a woman with a servant's heart for others. She enjoyed being a homemaker, business owner, pharmacy technician and church volunteer. Family pets included fish, dogs, ducks, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits and a bird. Her hobbies included gardening, macrame, decorating, travel, archery, teddy bear collecting, hiking and cooking. There was no lake, mountain, river, National Park, State Park, Site of Special Interests or Scenery that was not seen by Rosie.
Sweet Rosie will be missed by many but she has reached her ultimate victory of eternal life in Heaven with our Father God. Preceding her in death are mother Naomi Bellomy, father Russell Bellomy and stepmother Shirley Bellomy. Loving survivors include daughter Lori Ford of Edmond, son Monty Wagner and wife Cara Wagner of Edmond, brother Jim Bellomy of Northern CA; brother Tim Bellomy and wife Cathy Bellomy of Edmond. Grandchildren include Perry Ford, Jacob Ford, Sierra Ford, Drake Wagner, and Brock Wagner of Edmond, OK. Rosie's legacy of love will continue to flow through her descendants and friends. Life celebration service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Bible Church in Edmond, OK.
Thoughts from Rosie's grandchildren-
Perry- Grandma always had a passion for sharing the God's creation and adventure with everyone she knew.
Jacob- Grandma modeled the characteristics of the Proverbs 31 woman.
Sierra- Grandma's home radiated love and was always open to me. I love her.
Drake- She was always cooking something and taught me lots of different things about life.
Brock- I think about making brownies with Grandma.
Tips we learned from Rosie:
If you don't know how to cheer someone, bake them a cake or a pie.
Take the scenic route
Take time to pet fluffy dogs.
Count your blessings and don't worry.
Keep a card file of pre-stamped greeting cards ready to mail.
Stand up straight and always smile.
Visit your family and friends when they are in the hospital.
Praise God for ALL things.
Always tell your loved ones "I love you" at the end of every phone call, letter and visit. Always.
2 Corinthians 13:1 (NIV)
11 Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
