Ronald Dale Lane was born to the late Everton and Lillian Lane on March 30th, 1949 in Salina, Kansas. He graduated from Salina High School in 1967 and then attended Salina Area Vocational Technical School, graduating with a degree in Graphic Arts and Printing in 1969. Ron met his wife Patricia at the Vocational School and they married in 1970. They lived in Shreveport, Louisiana and Topeka, Kansas before settling in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1984.
Ron retired in 2015 with a Distinguished Career Award, for 36 years of service to the Federal Government. He joined the Air Force in 1969, worked for Goodyear after his discharge in 1973, joined the Postal Service in 1979, returned to the Air Force as civilian military in 1988, and transferred to the DLA in 1992.
Ron is survived by his wife Patricia Lane of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his son Josh Lane of Portland, Oregon; and his daughter Stacy Lane of Ada, Oklahoma. He was an easy going friend, father and husband. Ron was a great role model to his family, supporting their personal and professional goals with humor and power tools. He showed his love by making and fixing things for friends and family.
Ron was an avid fisherman and loved to spend time at the family property at Lake Eufaula. He enjoyed pulling people’s legs and good humored teasing. His favorite post church indulgences were Hideaway Pizza and chocolate chip ice cream. Never able to choose sides, he somehow found a ball cap with both the OU and OSU logos.
Ron will be greatly missed.
