Bob graduated from Putnam City High School and served in the United States Air Force. He is a proud Vietnam Veteran. Bob earned two Master’s Degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma and was a Licensed Professional Counselor. He worked as a psychological clinician for the Department of Corrections and as a school psychologist and school administrator for the Mid-Del School System for most of his career. Bob retired from Mid-Del Schools.
Bob married Nila Hensley on May 26, 1992. He loved the outdoors; hunting and fishing were among his favorites. He enjoyed solo hiking and camping as a younger man. He was also an avid Frisbee golf player. Bob was also a green thumb extraordinaire. Other of Bob’s favorite things were his family, traveling, music, and a good story or joke.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Shandy Roof;; step-daughter Nicole; and brother Greg Roof.
Bob is survived by his wife Nila Hensley; son Robert Allen Bright and wife Tammy; step-daughter Julie Hensley and husband Mike McKiddy; grandchildren: Arion Roof-Vaught, Sarah Bright Thompson, Amanda Bright, Brandon, and Deacon McKiddy; and two great-granddaughters Caroline and Maisie.
Graveside services for Bob will be 2:00 pm, Monday, April 5, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery (13313 N Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City).
