Robert “Bob” Neal green, Sr. passed December 21, 2023, in Oklahoma City after living a fulfilling and joyful life. Born on August 28, 1928, to Robert E. Green and Susan I. Green, he grew up in Tulsa and attended Will Rogers High School with his sister (Pat Apitz) who preceded him in death.
While attending high school, Bob met his future wife Charlene Patricia Campbell. Bob and Charlene married and celebrated 71 anniversaries. After moving to Oklahoma City, Bob joined and became an active member of the Masons. He attained the level of 32nd degree Mason. Bob and Charlene enjoyed traveling and spent many vacations snow skiing in Red River, New Mexico. Bob was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed baseball and football. He was a dedicated Oklahoma State stranger and enjoyed telling jokes. His weekends were often full of playing games, especially cards games, with friends.
Bob worked at Kerr Glass in Tulsa and then began a career in food distribution at Collins, Dietz, and Morris in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. He then worked with his father at Green Brokerage Company and later bought the company. He retired after many years as a successful food broker.
Bob and Charlene moved to The Village in 1956 where they raised their two sons. They joined the Britton Road Baptist Church where they remained members until their deaths. Bob was popular in the church as the candy man, passing out cinnamon disks to everyone. Bob was really proud of his two grandsons and their accomplishments with Eagle Scouts.
Bob is survived by his sons, Robert Neal Green, Jr. and his wife Yvonne of Yukon and Michael Kaye Green of Jacksonville, Florida; his grandchildren Robert Neal Green, III and his wife Laura, and Lee Trevor Green and his wife Brandi Bajer. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister, and his granddaughter Victoria Kaye Green.
A visitation for Robert will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Britton Baptist Church, 1141 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK.
