I miss you every day. You were my biggest fan. Always there for me. Loving me unconditionally no matter what. Frankly I'm lost with out .

I grew up in Utica, NY, and knew Bob there.  He had just come back from Viet Nam, and I was on my way there, the last time we ran into each other, at a diner, in Utica, around Christmas of 1969.  He had a substantial quantity of 1000 yard stare in his eyes, as he sat at a table, talking to me about his tour of duty, while cutting steak into small pieces.  It pleases me to know, from having seen the photos posted here, that he wound up having a good fulfilling life, and that he had the opportunity to share in great happiness, with a wonderful family.  May his memory always be blessed.

His light affected many people....it will burn on!

I am Bob's oldest friend in Oklahoma and came here with him long ago.  I am glad he was able in his life to have a family and do well.  He had a heart of gold beneath that tough guy NY phesod. I just found his obituary today on August 12th and it made me cry....I tried to see him in the hospital knowing he was very sick and was going to leave us.  I am glad his family could be with him when he passed.  I will hold many fond memories of working at the zoo and going to school with him at UCO in my heart forever.  Jane McHose

The 11th Cavalry Troopers about 40 + years ago and far from home in the jungles of Vietnam & Cambodia we took great care of one another so we could make it home to our mothers, fathers, wives, sisters, brothers and other loved-ones.----------------- --> Now once again we must say our goodbyes and continue to take our strides for the time will come our journey will be done and forever together with all of our loved-ones.

It made me both happy and sad, when I read the message from my brother Ed. The thing Bob will miss most,when he came home from Hospis is seeing the Nolans at Lake Morain. I think about you every time I go there. I will miss you to Bob.

Bob was a dear friend w/whom I shared mutual interest in vintage stereo gear and the US Army.  He was extremely proud of his Army service w/the 11th Armored Cav Regiment in Vietnam.  He and I crossed paths in Jan 2011 when he answered an ad for some speakers I had placed on Craig's List.  We started e-mailing back and forth and became fairly close.  I have a lot of walls in my life, but let everyone of them down for Bob, I trusted and respected him that much.  I'll miss his companionship and, of course, his "opinions" on just about everything. The video you put together for Bob brought many good memories of special times. He was blessed with a beautiful family and his service to country and all of us was not only in the Army and Vietnam it was for the rest of his life as he struggled with the issues so many of our precious veterans deal with.  He spent so much time reaching out to others to make their lives better.  Many are indebted to him and his service makes him a Hero in his own right. Thanks for sharing.  With love, Susie
