Harlan was born February 21, 1952 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Lela Jean (Reynolds) Farmer and Ray Harlan Farmer. he passed away peacefully at home with family on April 2, 2025. Harlan graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1970. He then went on to Oklahoma State University where he earned his Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration and met the love of his life, Debi Celeste Combest. They were married on September 10, 1976. Harlan and Debi moved to Edmond. He then attended Central State University earning his Master of Business Administration in 1981 and proudly received his CPA certification.
On January 13, 1987, the light of their life was born, Paul Houston Farmer.
Harlan loved spending time with his son whenever possible, ranging from sharing his automotive background in Formula 1 and the SCCA events at his favorite track, Hallet, to coaching his son's first little-league baseball team. In later years, chaperoning school events and marching band trips, driving lessons, and even building a car in the garage were all memorable father-son activities. Harlan was an avid sports lover which Paul inherited. He was a devoted Oklahoma State fan. Sounds of "Orange Power!" and "Pistols Firing!" would often fill the living room as every OSU football, basketball, or baseball game was mandatory viewing on his big screen TV.
He is survived by his son, Paul Houston Farmer, his sister, Tamara Lee Farmer, his aunt, Sherry Patterson, his cousins, Perrie Weedon and Bill, Nita Eason and David, Madeline Lessley and David, Randy Reynolds and Pam, Robin Jenkins, Sue Wampler and Keith, his sister-in-law, Denise Lamb, his nephew, Jared Lamb, and his niece, Lindsay Van Wechel and Zach, his brother-in-law, Randy Combest and his long time friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debi, his parents, and his brother-in-law, Phil Lamb.
